My Little Climber

Axton is such a climber. He loves to climb on anything and everything. He especially loves to climb stairs although he still insists on going down them head first despite our trying to get him to turn around. Following are a few of his recent climbing experiences.

This was taken a few days ago. He loves to play in his room and since there isn't anything that he can really damage or be hurt by I let him while I clean up the living room or kitchen. When he becomes really quite though that is my que, like most parents, to go see what he's getting into that I didn't think about. Somehow he managed to get out his container of books and climb on them in order to try and reach/climb on the next level of his changing table. I watched him for a while before getting the camera because I was so amused so the picture isn't very good. He had just fallen because he was standing on the side of the container and it tipped.

This picture was taken this morning. Once again he was playing in his room and I decided to check on him. I grabbed the camera this time as soon as I saw what he was doing! The second he saw me he burst out in a huge smile to show me that he was proud of his recent discovery. Boy do I have my hands full. Some of the other things he loves to climb on are the laundry baskets with clothes in them, if they are by the couch, because he knows he get onto the couch that way. Also we had some boxes stacked next to one of the couches and he would push them JUST RIGHT so he could climb them to get onto the couch. One of these days I'll try to get a picture of his couch climbing skills. He is obsessed with the couches!

Mud!

Every year the city of Queen Creek hosts a mud/water day. We decided to go check it out since we are considering moving there and also had nothing better to do. It was so much fun! I can't wait until Axton is older though and can do a lot of the things himself! The first thing we decided to do was the mudslide, so we could get all dirty and then get washed off on the other things before we had to head home.

Greg's splash was bigger than mine! They also had mud volleyball which I would love do if only we had something to do with Axton! Maybe in a few years!!

Greg took Axton down the slip and slide. Axton wasn't quite sure what to think of all the water going in his face. While you're standing in line waiting for your turn there are firefighters spraying you down with their hose. Well I had our bag with our phones and camera, etc, in it and I guess one of the guys thought I was the perfect target. I kept running back and forth to get away from the water, and hiding behind people but as soon as I would come out they would get me again! Finally I managed to get out of reach of their hose but everything was soaked! Luckily nothing got ruined and we had fun.

When we left Greg still had the record for the day for going the furthest on the slip and slide.

They also had some fun things for little kids. Axton had fun except for the fact that he was tired from not getting much sleep the night before.

We will definately be going again next year!

Greg's Promotion

I just wanted to give a shout out to my wonderful husband who is a great provider and a very hard worker (and maybe a little lucky too!). Greg got promoted at work after only 2 months! He used to be an assistant project manager but was just made one of the project managers. Gone are the days of him being bored at work! Now he gets to solve all of the problems on the jobs he is given. He was given a job that is already $100,000 over budget, but he is pretty sure that he can get them back under with a solution he came up with. Hopefully it will work. It's a huge blessing to us because with the promotion came some incentives like a great car allowance and a cell phone, so we can stop paying for his phone and gas to work, and if he does good then he'll get a payraise and hopefully a good bonus. All of which will help us since we are looking to buy a house and as everyone knows those don't come cheap. I am extremely proud of him and want him to know how much Axton and I love him.

But I can't let Greg have all of the attention!! Here are a few pics of Axton! They were from May and I forgot to post them.

Axton wouldn't sleep past 5am when we were in San Diego so one morning Shari took him for me and decided to rock him in their hammock swing. He loved it and he went right to sleep. He had some pretty awesome red marks when he finally woke up!
