Axton had a great night. He ended up hanging out with several friends from his class and others from the neighborhood. The only thing he was disappointed about was that we never found his teacher. I was told she was running a game and by the time we found out she was helping with food instead, she was gone. Oh well. This was the best $8 I've spent in a long time! We are looking forward to next years and hopefully this time Greg can go! The last 2 years we have always had some thing else going on the night of the school carnival and this year Greg ended up going out of town. So I decided to try and brave it by myself with the 3 kids. I am really glad we did too because it was a lot of fun! It went from 5-9 and we ended up staying almost the entire time.

Had I actually posted this at Easter time I would post more about our savior, Jesus Christ, and the resurrection and all that, but suffice it to say that I am grateful for him and the Atonement. That we can all return to Heavenly Father and be eternal families. Who wouldn't want to be with these adorable children forever?!Breehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17432764381431403943noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-995118707220488332.post-80809175307379044902013-06-04T21:26:00.003-07:002013-06-04T21:26:58.218-07:00Easter Fun Part 1:

The pictures don't completely do it justice. But the blue really brightened everything up and makes it feel cheery! Only after we painted I realized that for the first time in my life I really want white cabinets. Don't worry, Greg already told me N-O! The boy hates these kind of projects because he knows he'll do most of the work and it will take forever. But he always gives in when he knows its important to me!

Like always I am super behind. I still can't find the cord that plugs my camera into my computer so I finally found another cord that belongs to something else that will work! So now it's time to play catch up mostly for my own sake. So in March we went to San Diego for 10 days or so. We started the trip off with a few days with Greg's parents. Honestly I don't remember what we did. But a favorite past time at their house is jumping from the hallway onto the bean bag and so this trip we introduced Kenzington to it, and obviously it was a success.

I can't believe how fast it has gone. She is now officially in nursery at church which is awesome so that I won't have to deal with 2 kids now! She isn't sure if she likes it or not, so I guess only time will tell.

She went to the doctor and she weighs 23.6 lbs. She is in the 30% for weight, 80% for height, and 30% for head. Basically nothing has changed!

She is my pickiest kid so far when it comes to food. I don't know if it can get any worse. Right now for breakfast she will eat oatmeal or a poptart. For lunch she might eat half a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or a few bites of a quesadilla. Dinner is a miss most nights. She likes chicken sometimes, and whole beans are usally a go. She like most types of fruit but no veggies. Of course anything with sugar is fine by her but even then convincing her she wants it can be comical. She hates water and throws a fit if you give it to her instead of milk. If she sees me watering down juice she'll refuse to try it, but if I'm sneaky about it she loves it. She likes goldfish and ritz crackers but that's about it in the snack department. It's a miracle she's still growing!

She says a dozen or so words: mama, dada, Axton, yes, no, baby, up, all done, baby, and a few others I'm too tired to think of!

She loves going to sleep with her baby doll, but prefers the really baby! She's always making sure Leighton has a blanket and will come rub her head when I am feeding the baby. She also loves to hold her, but doesn't like us to help her. If she thinks we are going to take the baby away she'll grab and hold on to her for dear life! She is a wonderful big sister with NO jealousy issues, which I am grateful for.

She loves Axton too. She follows him around every where. She loves to chase him and be chased by him. She loves to look at books with him.

My favorite time of the day is when Greg comes home because she starts screaming in excitement and goes running, often times falling over because her feet won't move fast enough. She is daddy's little girl for sure. She cries every time he leaves her, so it's a good thing she is still alseep in the morning when he goes to work!

She is at such a fun stage right now and I love it. She gets so excited about little things. Has recently discovered her love for all books. She is always happy and shares easily with other kids. She'll pat people on the back and rub their heads to comfort them. She is a cuddler. She is getting so full of personality and will give you the funniest looks, from being a cheese ball, to glaring at you, or simply pretending you aren't there. She loves to look at you out of the corner of her eye.

I am so glad this little girl came to our family, and it was well worth the 3 years of trying to get her here! Greg's family (minus Katie and Spencer) came to town this last weekend since it was a 3 day weekend. Since we had 3 babies born in Dec/Jan we decided that we would bless the babies so that all the Leavitts could attend. Now that I'm thinking about only Leavitts were there, no other "in-laws".

Before the blessings. I never got around to buying a new blessing dress for Leighton so she used Kenzingtons. Only Kenzington was a few months older when we blessed her, so this dress was HUGE on poor Leighton. Oh well.

My mom came to help out for 10 days, which was a blessing and a curse! ;) When ever she comes she motivates me to think about decorating my house! I happened to see that a friend was selling her rocking chair for $10 and that it needed to be reupholstered, but otherwise was in great shape. I have always wanted one, since the recliners we got with Axton are too big for me to comfortable rock in while nursing.

So I talked my mom into helping me reupholster it since she has way more sewing experience then me. So she did most of the work while I kept convincing her that she could do it (since she never had before). We went to hobby lobby and picked out the material. I wish I had the before picture but I didn't think about it. So here is the after.

She also recovered some pillows I had for the couch. I want to make more but in different colors like the mustard, and blue, but we couldn't find any material that was the right color, so I continue to search!

It also made us think about repainting the walls, which we will do but haven't yet. We also got Greg on board to make some wooden cornices for the windows and sliding glass door. I won't share how much convincing it took, but it was a LOT!

I love how they turned out. We will probably paint them blue when we get around to painting the walls, but for now they'll stay white. I am now on the search for decorations to go above my kitchen cupboards, but I need money too! So one step at a time.
My due date was January 20th and I have a thing about letting my babies come on "their own", that is until I'm late! So even though my doctor said he would induce me up to a week early I opted to have a scheduled induction for the day after my due date because I was done, but really wanted her to come on her own. Plus I have never had to be induced so I was hopeful that it would just all happen on it's own. It didn't!

I was scheduled for 5am on the 21st, and knew that I could get bumped back or even canceled which had me worried since Greg's wonderful brother and sister-in-law, Brad and Ashley, took our kiddos the night before. So I started calling at 3 am to see if we were still on and up until 4:30 they didn't know. At 4:30 they told me no, and that they would call me when I could come. I was bummed. I manage to fall asleep and then of course at 5:15 they called to tell me that if I could be there by 6 then they would start me. So we got there at 6 and spent at least a half hour getting checked in, and by 7 was in a room. The nurse putting in my IV was HORRIBLE! She couldn't get it in and kept trying to force it. The mixture of morning sickness and my hatred of all things needle related, plus the pain she was inflicting, led to me all but passing out. To keep me from passing out she waved one of those awesome amonia sticks in my face which really did me in. I'll spare you the details! So about 45 minutes later a different nurse was able to get the IV in on her first attempt. At 8:45 they started the pitocin. I had heard horror stories about the intensity of it, but truthfully for me it was the same as going into labor naturally. It might have helped that I was already having regular, but small contractions. At 10 or so the doctor came in and broke my water. At 11 I decided I wasn't ready to try for a natural birth thanks to the drama of having Kenzington, so I asked for the epidural. The doctor came in at 12:20 and after 3 big pushes and 2 little ones, Leighton Olivia joined the world.

She weighed 7 lbs 13 oz, and was 20 in. She had dark brown hair, and more of it than either of our others which made me happy! The next thing I noticed was that she had ridiculously long fingers compared to her hands. I think it was Greg's first comment too! They are very long and skinny, freakishly so.
Luckily there were no complications this go around, and Brad and Ashley brought the kids over after dinner. Kenzington wanted nothing to do with me which I was prepared for, since Axton had had the same reaction when she was born. Something about hospital gowns and IVs freak my kids out (and most others too).

Greg went home with the kids and so it was just the baby and I which was a first. I thought I'd end up sending her to the nursery for the night, but I felt really good physically so I opted to keep her and all was well.

The next day Greg came for a few hours in the morning while his amazing sister Kim watched the kids. It was nice to have some adult interaction even if most of it was him on the phone for work! He then left to take Axton to preschool and put Kenzington down for a nap. We agreed he'd come back after Axton got home and that's when I would be able to leave too.

As it turned out Leighton was right on the border of having to stay for jaundice which had me bummed, I hate hospitals and couldn't wait to get out of there and back to life. I was bored with tv after a day and ready to be busy again. Luckily the pediatrician agreed to let us leave as long I would bring her in to see him in the next day or two. Kenzington finally came to me once I was dressed and "normal" looking, but she still preferred to be with Greg! I think Axton hates hospitals as much as we do because when we got in the car to go home he said he wasn't feeling well and was going to throw up. He got really pale to. But by the time we got home he was back to his normal self and said he felt fine thankfully (I have the same reaction every time I go to a hospital).
I took ZERO pictures in November, go me! But some memorable things happened so I took the opportunity to hijack some of my sister-in-law's photos! Really the main things was Thanksgiving. We spent it with Greg's family in San Diego because his youngest sibling, Melanie, came home from her mission to the Dominican Republic that Tuesday. Kim and Josh had gone out the Friday before, Brad and Ashley, and Jeff and Karen went out Monday, and then we left Tuesday afternoon and go tthere with about an hour to spare before heading to the airport. So in that hour all of the cousins got to color the welcome home sign.

The next night the cousins all got to open their christmas presents from G-ma and G-pa. They all got sleeping bags to use for our family reunion camping trip that is happening in July. Axton was very disappointed at first because he wanted either a toy or candy. But he discovered that he would be able to sleep in it with his cousins in the living room he quickly changed his tune and decided it was the best present ever.

As of last Thanksgiving we have started a new family tradition. Every time we are together for big family events, like this, we are going to play kickball. So the day before Thanksgiving we decided to take the kids to the park for something to do and played a little kickball there. Seeings that I was 32 weeks or so pregnant I decided playing with the little kids was my only good option, and that I should probably sit out the next day when the all the adults played and were competitive, especially since I can't run now! It was short lived but fun. Once again no photo of the adults playing the next day but they had fun.

The main reason I bought Axton's halloween costume was because of all the accessories it came with, badge, flashlight, baton, binoculars, watch, hat, whistle, and ... handcuffs. Well I didn't really think about the whistle or handcuffs part to well. So one morning Kenzington is crying and screaming and I keep yelling at Axton to leave her alone but she won't stop. She finally came into where I was and this is what I saw!

She was so upset that she couldn't get her hands free but I couldn't help but laugh. I love things that kids do, most of the time. Once I laughed she decided it was ok too and after that she didn't mind being handcuffed, although thankfully they broke pretty quick!

As mention a few months ago, Axton got a fishing pole for his brithday. So here are pics from our many adventures to Power Ranch to fish in their lake (and yes we have family that lives there so it was ok)!

I enjoyed going with them, but I'm ok if they want to go have boy time doing this! I don't mind fishing but I can think of other girly things to do with Kenz, and the new baby, once she's old enough. So glad Greg is a wonderful daddy and that we are able to provide our children with these experiences. I am so grateful that he chooses to spend his free time with his kids and never hesitates to take them out to do things. These kids have an amazing daddy!

Finally here is the last of our Halloween fun, I know I'm almost 2 months behind yet again! But we did lots of fun things! We were able to go some of the cousin's real trunk-or-treating the night before halloween. It was a nice short 1/2 hour event! Kenzington definitely understood what was going on this time!

By being a bzzmember I received a free bottle of their facial cleanser, night cream, and face mask. This line of their products is made out of the Clary Sage, which is a hardy little plant in the Mediterranean, that is able to retain moisture despite the harsh conditions it lives in, hense the intense hydration part!

According to them "In clinical studies, 100% of women tested said their skin felt hydrated after using Burt's Bees® Intense Hydration products." I would have to agree.
Here's the run down of all the products in case you are interested:
I haven't tried the eye cream or the day lotion, I'm sure they are great too. I like the products overall, my complaint is the smell! That also might bother me more than usual due to the ever growing mass in my stomach! It has a very bushy, outdoors smell to it, but it hasn't bothered me enough to stop using it. Given how dry AZ is right now my face was feeling it, and even two days later without using the product (because I'm lazy), my face still feels hydrated. The other down side for me is the price. I'm cheap though, and don't know how much people are willing to pay for products, anything over $10 for me is expensive, maybe someday that will change! The other thing of note for me is that I didn't break out at all when I switched to this, which is always a good thing in my book. Overall I love the products this company comes out with, and look forward to trying more of their products in the future. Kenzington's first time really trick or treating (I'm very anti babies getting candy from strangers, when they can't walk, let alone eat solid food). But this year she wasted no time getting to the goods.

Things I didn't get pictures off include the barrel ride, donut eating (I will admit I had a handful of so myself!), face painting, haunted house (which Kenzington barely cried in, yep we're awesome parents like that), and a few other goodies like cotton candy, popcorn, etc. Needless to say when we got home around 9 my kids were wired, thank heavens it was Saturday night and church isn't until noon! Can't wait for next year.

Every year we have managed to go to Vertuccio Farms in October to start off the holiday festivities. We were going to skip it this year because it's a little spendy but then Brad and Ashley called us and asked if we want to join them and Kim's family for Family Home Evening there. We usually go on a Saturday morning so it was a nice change to do it on Monday night, the only downside is that my camera doesn't like the dark, we need a better flash for it. So here are a few pics to show that we were there.

Story of my life, I am once again playing catch up on this stinking blog! How am I ever going to manage it when the next baby comes? Hats off to those that stay on top of it! But I am loving some of the new changes blogger has installed like the fact that I can actually see my pictures now, no more guessing which one is which! And now they download relatively fast so maybe I will start doing this more! Downside I hate the new templates when trying to make my blog all cute. I actually locked myself out of my blog for a while because I erased the top bar, so I couldn't log in, I couldn't update posts, I couldn't do nothing! I finally found a way in through my moms and fixed it. So now to catch up.

At the beginning of Oct, AZ had their state fair. We had never been and decided that since it was $1 entrance on opening day before 5 or whatever we would head on over and check it out. I am realizing that I used to love fairs, not so much anymore, probably because the frugal side of me comes out and I now understand why parents dread them, they are money suckers! But the kids enjoyed it and that's all that matters.

First stop was "The Barn". The kids loved looking at all the animals and the petting area. Kenz wasn't afraid of the rabbits at all, but she has no idea what the word "soft" means, those poor bunnies!

They had a reptile guy come and do shows, which we enjoyed. I was amazed at how long it lasted. I thought it would be a 10-15 minute thing, but it was closer to an hour. He does birthday parties too, so we might just splurge and have him come one year. He had all sorts of snakes, lizards, etc. Some of them cost upwards of $60,000! Now that is love.

After the animals Axton wanted to ride a few rides. Maybe the reason I don't like fairs anymore is because the last few times we have gone I haven't been able to ride anything, thanks to being a pregosaur. Maybe when the kdi are older I'll get to ride all the rides with them while Greg and his weak stomach sit and pig out, or play carnival games. But for now Greg gets to do the honors and first up was the giant slide. Which they kept going on so Axton only got to do one other ride.

Greg played carnival games, which to me are a complete waste of money but he enjoys them. I got the worst parent award because we forgot to strap Kenzington in the stroller and so needless to say she decided that night would be a good time to try to climb out. She ended up head diving onto the concrete, and ended up with a nice goose egg and scratches. She is definitely tough though and was over it in a few minutes. Needless to say she gets strapped in all the time now!

The one thing that is still true to my growing up, and maybe redneckness, is that I couldn't miss the chance to watch the cars race! They were doing the figure 8 race which I had never seen before and I enjoyed it, probably more than anyone else. Axton got bored after a while so we left about half way through, darn children. I didn't take any pics because I was enjoying it too much, and eating all of our fried food gloriousness.

To see their website you can visit them here.

The basics of their products are:
No artificials
No hydrogenateds
No corn syrups
No preservatives
No GMOs

So far they have "knock off" candy bars of Snickers, Milky Way, Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, Plain M&Ms, and Peanut M&Ms.

If you are looking for a "healthier" kind of candy bar this might be right up your alley. So far my family has tried the Snickers, Reeses, and peanut M&M versions. My husband didn't like any of them, my 5 year old loved all of them, and I was somewhere in the middle. I definitely felt like they were lacking some sweetness, and the chocolate had a funky aftertaste in my opinion. The peanut m&m ones were lacking the sweet & salty aspect, they just seemed bland. The snickers version was my favorite, and I couldn't stand the Reeses version, one bite was all I could handle. They just didn't hit the spot for me, although I didn't think they were terrible (for the most part). To me I'd rather buy the real deal (which is cheaper than these ones and more ready accessable). I don't expect candy bars to be healthy for me, I want them to taste delicious since they are a rare treat! But I can see why health nuts would prefer these. And as a mother it is tempting to buy these instead so I can feel like my kids are getting a "healthier" treat.

But don't take my opinion for it, try it yourself and let me know what you think. I have B1G1 coupons if anyone is interested. I found them easily at CVS and Walgreens. Well at least if my computer cooperates!

Yesterday was Axton's b-day. I thought I had bought everything we needed to decorate the house and his cake on Saturday. Alas I was sadly mistaken! So the house wasn't decorated when he woke up like I had planned but he seemed to not even notice. We went to the store and bought what I was missing. Then he helped me mix the cake right before preschool and while he was off I got busy.

He came home to find his closet all decorated, and he has asked if we can keep it up forever! They are so easy to please at this age.

Since his big present this year was going to Disneyland we avoided a "friend" party for one more year! So we decided to have cousins who live here come over for cake. He requested a dinosaur one, and when he saw a picture of one with a hat his had to have one too.

Axton was so excited to open his presents and his cousins were more than happy to help out with that! Thanks Aunt Ashley and Uncle Brad for the awesome "Cars" assortment of goodies!

Aunt Kim and Uncle Josh got him craft stuff. Finally a place for his markers, crayons, pencils, papers, etc, to be contained all in one place! He begged to sleep with it, but I knew he would be too tempted to open it up and start cutting and gluing things!

And although I think my mom was having serious doubts about the present we picked out from her, I must say I think it was his favorite! He got a fishing pole, complete with lures and hooks! He is already asking when we are going camping again (since he thinks you have to camp to fish). We'll be in trouble when he discovers he can fish next to his cousins house!
So after a spendy trip I decided now was the time! He has been flying it almost none stop and has almost perfected it. We were nervous at first because he kept crashing it, but Dad is going to be surprised when he gets home at how good Axton has become. He can land it softly, and make it go different directions with minimal crashing. He even managed to land it on the couch successfully.

Overall I think he had a great 5th birthday and I enjoyed it because all I really had to do was clean my house and bake a cake. Next year could be interesting when we finally do a "friends" party. He kept saying all day that, "this is the best birthday ever!" Oh please stay so easy!
So I finally bought the elastic bands and comb and decided to try it out today. It was almost a success.

She didn't like me doing it and so I have to find some way to distract her. She just might have to have a treat every morning while I do it! Plus her hair is still really thin and spotty up front, but at least I know I can start messing with it. Time to make more bows!

Of course Axton couldn't be left out, so here is his new hair do as of last night!

He has school pics today so I decided it was the perfect time to cut it. Unfortunately I cut it a little too short to spike it, so hopefully a little gel will make it look like its at least combed. I think I am finally getting the hang of cutting his hair and blending it. This one only took about 10 mins, and I only screwed up the very back because he kept wiggling. Maybe perfection will come in a year when he can sit still. He always complains he is itchy, so maybe I'll remember next time to wrap a towel around him!

Now if only my hair would grow out again!

I am warming up to the idea, but I will admit I really thought it was a boy. So much for my instincts! It will be nice for Kenz to have a sister so close in age, not mention 6 of the 10 girls on the Leavitt side will be less than 2 years apart in age! I am getting excited, and she will be here before we know it. Now to pick a name.Breehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17432764381431403943noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-995118707220488332.post-72545472330480941172012-08-15T10:39:00.001-07:002012-08-15T10:40:32.349-07:00I was scheduled to find out what we are having next Monday, but we found out we might be out of town for a funeral (more to come on that later) so I rescheduled it. Greg leaves next week for a few days for work, and then we have a few days and then we take off for 10 days on a family vacation so I figured the easiest time to do it was this week, or not for about 3 weeks (and of course I'm too impatient to wait that long!). So we went to the doctor and here is our little bundle.

The baby was going to town with it's thumb, it better not get too attached because that is not allowed in this house!

I suppose the important part is that it looks healthy! Of course it was super active at the beginning while she was measuring things and then when it came time to see what it was it wouldn't move anymore. It tucked it's legs together in the fetal position and would barely budge. So one minute she would say it "MIGHT" be a girl and then the next she would say, "Well that looks like something there". So the verdict is that she refused to committ to either answer and its still basically 50/50 and since she couldn't see a few important things I get to go back in 2 or 4 weeks, when we can find the time. Ughhhh.... I just wanted to know!

I won't lie we were all a bit disappointed when she said it MIGHT be a girl. Axton about threw a fit insisting that its a boy. Even today when I asked him if he would still love it if its a girl he said, "Yes, but don't worry when it comes out its going to be a boy!" Love his faith, have to say I was thinking the same thing! So until the next ultrasound we are trying to wrap our minds around the fact that it might be a girl and that 3 more girls could be joining the Leavitt clan within a 5 week window. Guess I better get used to that fact that we might have 1 boy and a bunch of girls in this household (SCARY)! Where has the time gone? This last year has gone by so fast and having her as an addition to the family has been such an easy transition. So this post is in honor of the birthday girl!

On her actual birthday which was Saturday we didn't do anything very exciting. Axton had his last t-ball game so we went to that. Then home for naps, and just lounged around and cleaned the house for her "birthday party" on Sunday.

Sunday we treated it more like her birthday. We had french toast for breakfast, blew up balloons for them to play with, hung the birthday sign, etc. Went to church and then afterwards it was time to get ready for all the family to come over. For dinner we had roast, potatoes, carrots, homemade rolls, salad, and of course birthday cake!

I couldn't decide what kind of cake to make for her so I finally settled on this care bear cake that I am pretty sure was used for me as a little girl. It turned out alright.
She loved being song too even if it was all off tune (thank you Leavitts)! But she had no idea what to do with the candle.

Have I mentioned that she is a very picky eater! She touched the frosting but didn't dare eat it until Greg finally forced some frosting into her mouth and she decided it didn't taste too bad.

Even then it still took her some time to really decide to go after it, but once she did she devoured it like it was going out of style. For once there was nothing left but crumbes and none of it was on the floor!

Also like a typical one year old she had no real interest in presents. She opened her first one by pulling out one tissue paper, putting it back in, and then walking away!

The next present she opened she kind of got the hang of it until she realized it was a toy. Once she spotted it she didn't want to open anymore presents, she just wanted to play with it.

Her last few presents were then opened up with the help of cousins! She really didn't care she just wanted the toys.

Needless to say today Axton is enjoying her toys more than she is, poor girl. Its rough having an older sibling take everything away from you!

She also went to the doctor today and got her least favorite present.... 4 shots. She did wonderfully for two, but the other two made her cry, luckily only for about a minute. She's a champ. She weighs a whole 19 lbs 1 oz and is in the 17%, her height is in the 95%, and her little head is in the 30%.

A few random fun facts I want to remember is:

1. She is a monkey. She can climb almost any obstacle in her way. She climbs the couch, our bed, chairs, etc. I predict she will be climbing out of her crib by the time the baby comes.
2. She, like Axton, has an evil laugh!
3. She loves to be chased and loves peak-a-boo more than any other baby I know.
4. If I sing to her she'll stop crying almost instantly.
5. She is a ridiculously picky eater! She'll eat tons of food if she likes it, but if she doesn't... over the high chair it goes. She'll make up her mind just by looking at it. You can't force her to try things either, unless it is like pure sugar. Even then she thrashes around and throws a fit.
6. She DOES NOT like men. Even her uncles that she is around she prefers it if they don't touch her. The second a man pays attention to her she starts to get all nervous and if they come near her or try to touch her she completely flips! She also has an age preference, any guy under about 20 is fine, but over that brings on her fits. On the flip side she'll go to just about any woman that is willing to pay attention to her.
7. Despite her lack of liking men, she LOVES her daddy. If he walks by without acknowledging her she lets him know! She follows him everywhere, loves to cuddle with him, and just be with him. Although she does have her days when only momma will do and even dad makes her flip out!
8. She loves her brother, she loves to be around him even when he is dragging her around the house. She loves the attention he gives her and he can make her laugh the most.
9. She loves exploring every nook and cranny of any place. She loves to open cabinets and climb inside if she can. She also loves emptying them. SHe loves the outdoors and all of it's hidden surprises.
10. She loves her warm water. She loves baths and showers, but would rather go exploring than sit in a pool.

Kenzington we love you and are so glad you came to our family, even if you did take your sweet ole time!Breehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17432764381431403943noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-995118707220488332.post-88673571566303381062012-07-31T20:10:00.000-07:002012-07-31T20:10:13.502-07:00T-BallI grew up playing softball, and my younger brother was way in to baseball, so I always knew I wanted my children to at least try it. In Idaho (and most of the US) you play this lovely sport in the spring/summer, so when this summer came I decided to sign Axton up and he got lucky because his cousin Brooklynn got to sign up with him! Needless to say baseball is not a sport we will be playing again in the summer in AZ if I can help it! I think next summer we'll try basketball since it's indoors!

But here are a few pictures of him and Brooklynn at one of their first games. At first Axton wasn't so sure he liked us taking his pictures but he quickly warmed up to it and became a ham. I love this boy's faces.
If we could combine Axton's high swing and Brooklynn's low swing I think we'd have us a great hitter!
And I just love this one of Brooklynn!

But they both have done very well, even if Axton likes to play with the grass while he sits and waits for his turn to bat or gets mad when he doesn't get the ball.

It's almost the end of the season, 1 more game to go, and I'm still not sure if he likes it or not. I'll put him in it again come this winter/spring when it's a lot cooler and see if that makes a difference. Right now I think he just hates being hot, sweaty, and itchy. We'll let him decide after the next round if he wants to keep at it.

Soccer begins for him in about 2 months and we are excited for
that!Breehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17432764381431403943noreply@blogger.com0
