Yes, another one of these!

My most recent FREE product to try is Burt's Bees Intense Hydration skin products. By being a bzzmember I received a free bottle of their facial cleanser, night cream, and face mask. This line of their products is made out of the Clary Sage, which is a hardy little plant in the Mediterranean, that is able to retain moisture despite the harsh conditions it lives in, hense the intense hydration part!

According to them "In clinical studies, 100% of women tested said their skin felt hydrated after using Burt's Bees® Intense Hydration products." I would have to agree.

Here's the run down of all the products in case you are interested:

I haven't tried the eye cream or the day lotion, I'm sure they are great too. I like the products overall, my complaint is the smell! That also might bother me more than usual due to the ever growing mass in my stomach! It has a very bushy, outdoors smell to it, but it hasn't bothered me enough to stop using it. Given how dry AZ is right now my face was feeling it, and even two days later without using the product (because I'm lazy), my face still feels hydrated. The other down side for me is the price. I'm cheap though, and don't know how much people are willing to pay for products, anything over $10 for me is expensive, maybe someday that will change! The other thing of note for me is that I didn't break out at all when I switched to this, which is always a good thing in my book. Overall I love the products this company comes out with, and look forward to trying more of their products in the future.

UNREAL Candy

The latest campaign I have been doing through bzzagent.com is a free trial of UNREAL Candy.

To see their website you can visit them here.

The basics of their products are:
No artificials
No hydrogenateds
No corn syrups
No preservatives
No GMOs

So far they have "knock off" candy bars of Snickers, Milky Way, Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, Plain M&Ms, and Peanut M&Ms.

If you are looking for a "healthier" kind of candy bar this might be right up your alley. So far my family has tried the Snickers, Reeses, and peanut M&M versions. My husband didn't like any of them, my 5 year old loved all of them, and I was somewhere in the middle. I definitely felt like they were lacking some sweetness, and the chocolate had a funky aftertaste in my opinion. The peanut m&m ones were lacking the sweet & salty aspect, they just seemed bland. The snickers version was my favorite, and I couldn't stand the Reeses version, one bite was all I could handle. They just didn't hit the spot for me, although I didn't think they were terrible (for the most part). To me I'd rather buy the real deal (which is cheaper than these ones and more ready accessable). I don't expect candy bars to be healthy for me, I want them to taste delicious since they are a rare treat! But I can see why health nuts would prefer these. And as a mother it is tempting to buy these instead so I can feel like my kids are getting a "healthier" treat.

But don't take my opinion for it, try it yourself and let me know what you think. I have B1G1 coupons if anyone is interested. I found them easily at CVS and Walgreens.

Live Below the Line

I'm a bzzagent and the next campaign I am involved in is Live Below the Line. The challenge is that from May 7th - 11th, individuals must use only $1.50 per day (per person) for food for 5 days. The goal is to bring to life the direct experiences of the 1.4 billion people currently living in extreme poverty and help to make real change.

I don't think this will be all that hard for me since I am going to make my family do it with me (since I do the shopping and cooking!) So with the 4 of us that's $6 a day or $30 for the 5 days. Truth be told that's not much less than we have for budgeted food anyways (I am going to donate to the cause the difference). We'll have to cut out any treats, make our own bread, limit our milk consumption, and eat pancakes, pb & j, and spaghetti everyday (semi-joking!).

The truth is $1.50 per person per day for food isn't that bad and in my opinion not living in "extreme poverty", otherwise I would be considered "poverty" level based on my food budget. However Live Below the Line acknowledges this and points out that "the $1.50 figure represents the amount someone living in extreme poverty in the U.S. would have to live on and that for most of the 1.4 billion living in "extreme poverty" the $1.50 doesn't cover JUST food, like it will for us, but also health, housing, transport, food, education, etc."

We americans really are spoiled!

So if you want to get involved you can go to livebelowtheline.com and sign up yourself for the challenge (and to raise money). Or if you'd rather just help me out you can go to www.livebelowtheline.com/me/breonneleavitt and donate some cold hard cash! Yeah don't mock my pathetic fundraising goal (I hate raising money!).

Well look forward to my follow up post in a month to see if we were successful!
